Cindy Brown (Cindy JB) All About Layering 2; Second Assignment

The second card I created as part of the Altenew Certification Program continued to focus on stamps with layering. I am learning about the landmarks on each layer of the stamp to create these beautiful flowers. I began working with three stamp sets that I own: Beautiful Day, Garden Treasure and Peony Bouquet. After stamping flowers and leaves from each set, I found a combination that made me happy.
The first layers that I stamped onto Neenah 80 pound smooth cardstock were leaves from  the Altenew floral stamp set Beautiful Day.

The leaves are outlined in Altenew Mountain Pine and then layered with Firefly and Grass Field. I stamped 2 sets of leaves and then on the third set, I die cut and glued it to the base of the card for a little dimension.
Next, I made 3 of the yellow flowers from the Altenew Stamp set of Garden Treasure with the layers of Altenew ink in Butter Cream and Warm Sunshine. For the centers and stamens of the yellow flowers,  I used Coral Bliss. I die cut the yellow flowers and then glued them to a duplicate die cut so that the paper was 2 layers thick. I arranged and glued them over the leaves.
I added a small accent of flower and foliage from a stamp in the Beautiful Day set and colored it with Copic markers R27 and R24 and Altenew alcohol artist markers G702 and G715. I die cut this and then glued it under the top left yellow flower. I also created other flowers and foliage but finally settled on just one floral accent.
I met the challenge of the large, 4-step peony from the Altenew set Beautiful Day with Altenew Permanent Black dye ink, followed by the Altenew inks of Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss and Heartbeat.  I like how all these layers of warm pink colors created a gorgeous peony.
I used the sentiment "sending hugs and happy thoughts" from the Beautiful Day stamp set stamped with Versafine Clair Nocturne pigment ink. I love the detail and precise lines I am able to get from this ink.
I thought the card was beautiful but seemed ungrounded so I wanted a frame around the flowers. I used the Fine Frames Cover Die from Altenew and I couldn't decide if I wanted to frame the card with Altenew Rouge 80 pound paper or the Altenew wood paper (yes, really thinly sliced wood), so I alternated with each as the die creates a frame with multiple frames. I stopped with the frames when there was contact with one of the leaves.
The card was attached to a Neenah 110 pound cardstock, top folded base card with Tombow dotted permanent adhesive tape. I did want to put a sequin on the card but I didn't because I thought it might get too busy looking.
I love this card and all that I have learned about layering.
