Cindy Brown Irresistible Inking Techniques

This class covered several techniques which greatly expand my understanding of the creative possibilities of the Altenew ink pad. I liked learning all of these techniques because I now have a way to access paper and accents in any color of ink pad that I have in my crafty stash. For this card, I happened to have colored card stock but I could have easily used a brayer or scuffling technique to color the card stock. I also learned new ways to create a colorful background for stamped images. For the project I have chosen to highlight, I used the following techniques from this class: heat embossing, painting with dye inks, splattering, and card composition with different colors of paper and washi tape, and placement of rhinestones. 


I stamped the flower from Altenew Engraved Flowers stamp set onto Neenah Solar White 80 pound card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with Ranger detail gold embossing powder. I then watercolored with Altenew Deep Iris and Olive inks which I activated with water. The sentiment was stamped from the Altenew stamp set Engraved Flowers and gold heat embossed. I framed the flower and sentiment with Altenew Deep Iris paper that I die cut with the Altenew Fine Frames Cover Die. I then cut this card stock and popped it up with foam, so that I could place it over an A2 size Deep Iris card stock which I had embellished with Altenew Gold Washi tape. The card was top-folded on 110 pound Solar White Neenah card stock. 

I used the Deep Iris ink to splatter the background of the flower.  

I finished the card with 3 purple rhinestones. The photo does not capture how sparkling these rhinestones are.

I like this card. I liked the class because I now have some new tools to expand my creative possibilities with a few supplies and embellishments.
