I just completed the lessons in Altenew Academy's "Beautiful Details". It was an eye opener in thinking about stamping the images as a starting point vs. thinking of them as a finished image. This course was about using details to add my own personal touches.
To explain, the first image below is captioned WITHOUT ADDED DETAIL. This is the Altenew Japanese Mum stamp and I used the Altenew Red Sunset dye inks (Blush, Rouge, Crimson, Velvet from lightest to darkest) to stamp this. Notice that I used the Crimson ink instead of black ink to outline the flower. Prior to this course, this would have been completed. But the next image reflects what I have learned in this course.
The next image is captioned marked WITH ADDED DETAIL and it reveals all of the details I have added with Polychromos Medium Flesh and Madder and Prismacolor in Blush Pink. I also could have used my Altenew Artist Markers with the pencils, but I chose not to for this image.

To make the card, I fussy cut the leaves, and used the die to cut out the flower. On my card base, I ink blended Altenew rouge ink on a narrow portion that would align with the small opening I created on the card panel so that the rouge would show through. I added the sentiment from the Japanese Mum set by heat embossing Ranger gold fine detail powder and then I used foam tape to adhere the leaves and flower to the panel.
BEAUTIFUL!! Love the focal point and details, Cindy! Thanks so much for entering your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Beautiful colors and design. Well done!
