CindyJB/All About Layering. First project in Altenew Certification.
I created this after watching the free video found in Altenew Academy. I followed the course for the Painted Flowers video.
This course is a lesson in layering stamped images. Though the flowers look free-form, it is actually very precise and required that I draw arrows and look for matching landmarks for each layer to create the pattern of each flower and leaf. It is so beautiful. I felt so happy creating this card and I learned about how layering properly really enhances the images.
This card was created using the Painted Flowers stamp and die from Altenew. The lighter flowers are stamped with the Altenew dye inks of Sea Glass (lightest), Ocean Waves, Dusk, and Desert Night (darkest blue). The leaves were stamped with Frayed Leaf and Forest Glade. The sentiment was created from the Altenew stamp set Label Love using Versafine Clair Pigment Ink in Nocturne. The flowers and leaves were also stamped with this black ink as well. I love the detail from this black ink. I find this ink perfect for any detail. For the small leaf and flower just above the sentiment, I stamped it and then used my Altenew artist markers in Dusk and Forest Glade. The Altenew dye inks are available as Artist markers in many of the colors. I propped up the dark blue flowers and the sentiment with 3D foam. I used Neenah smooth card stock 80 pound for the images and I used fun foam and glue on Neenah smooth 110 pound card stock for the base of the card.

Looks fantastic! I like that you stamped on the background as well as popped a couple of flowers, makes it really interesting.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for entering your beautiful work in the AECP assignment Gallery. Beautiful colors and design. Well done.
I just wanted to confirm if you are Cindy Brown? We actually have three people named Cindy in this group, hence the confusion. Please confirm if otherwise at erum@altenew.com
This is lovely! I think it will be more pleasing to the eyes to group the flowers in a cluster OR place them randomly over the card front. Love what you created! I am so glad that you enter your beautiful work in Altenew AECP assignment Gallery. Awesome details and design! Super work!
