CINDY BROWN CLEAN AND SIMPLE BOUTIQUE CARD

Cindy Brown CLEAN AND SIMPLE BOUTIQUE CARD ASSIGNMENT
I decided to use a metallic technique for this assignment. I had several attempts with this technique and went through several stamp selections, embossing powder selections and exposure to the heat via the laminating machine. I finally had good results with the peony in the Garden Treasure stamp set and the Handpicked Bouquet stamp set.
I began by stamping one of the layers (only one layer as I was going for simplicity) of the peony in the Altenew Garden Treasure stamp set in Altenew dye ink Coral Bliss.
I then used Versamark embossing ink to stamp the outline of the peony from the Altenew Garden Treasure Stamp set, followed by fine, clear embossing powder.
Next, I covered the stamped image with a heat sensitive gold foil and waited for my laminating machine to get as hot as possible.
While the machine heated up, I made a folder  of parchment paper  and then placed a heavy weight card stock on the parchment folder and then placed the A2 size card stock with the stamped image and gold foil inside of the folder. Once the machine was really hot I fed it through the machine twice to make sure the gold foil would adhere to the paper.

When the foil is pulled away, the gold foil that adhered to the stamped embossing powder remains.  It is so shiny.
I repeated the gold foil process and then die cut a portion of the Altenew stamp Handpicked Bouquet and fussy cut the peony.

I used my Altenew stamp block to add a few dabs of the Altenew Coral Bliss with a spray of water and I mixed it with my silicone paint brush (seems to work for me better than a fiber brush for splattering) and I splattered a soft background for my clean and simple card.

For the sentiment, I chose "Miss You Always" from the stamp set Needlework Motif from Altenew. Because it is so small and detailed, I used Versafine Clair pigment ink in Nocturne to stamp the sentiment. I then used post-it tape to stabilize a sentiment die I got from Simon Says (I don't remember the name) and cut it out on my Vagabond die cutting machine.
When the background was dry, I then glued the spray of foliage to the card stock and added foam to the back of the peony and sentiment.

I used the special rulers made for the Misti to help me align the sentiment. I put glue on the bottom of the foam so I could move the sentiment to find the right placement. I placed the peony over the gold foliage.

I was tempted to add a jewel or sequin but I wanted to keep this card clean and simple.  With all of the gold foil and the splattered background, I decided that there was enough embellishment.
