Cindy Brown Magical Marker Techniques

The lessons in this course focused on ways to create cards by using the Altenew Artist Markers. There was a nice overview about the theory and the different colors in the Altenew Artists Markers. The markers were created to match the Altenew ink colors! The markers have a fine nib and a felt brush-like end. The lesson reviewed ways the markers can be blended, as well as the unique materials they can be applied to. I was inspired to create this card in ways I would not have thought of before taking this course.
I began by using my Altenew stencil in Leaf Burst, and I used only half of the stencil for my design because I wanted to leave some white space for my sentiments. I used a Copic Black 0.1 alcohol marker for this step, as this particular stencil design was too fine for even the detail nib on the Black Altenew Artist Marker.

After I had outlined the stencil shapes, I filled in each space with the Altenew Sea Glass color with the felt brush side. I then used Ocean Waves to outline the inner lines of one layer, and then Dusk on another, and finally used Dusk for the last layer, creating an ombre from left to right with the Cool Summer Night Artist Markers.
I stamped the outline of the sentiment Smile from the Altenew Halftone Smile stamp and die set using Clair Pigment Ink in Twilight. I then colored in the outline with the Altenew Ocean Waves Artist Marker. I used the die from the set to cut it out and I also used the die to cut out adhesive foam to pop it up. I then stamped"a good day starts with a" from the same set with Clair Twilight Pigment Ink. I then cut this out in a strip and cut out and popped it up with adhesive foam. I then embellished (see first image) with the matching enamel dots created by Altenew in the Cool Summer Night collection.
