Cindy Brown AECP Modern Holiday Card Making

I just completed the latest Altenew course which was taught by Nancy McClelland. The course I completed is Modern Holiday Card Making and I loved it. It was so much fun and there were lots of tips and new ideas that I used for my cards. From this course, I have chosen the above card as the one I wish to present to my AECP instructors.
One hallmark of the modern Holiday card is the use of the color black. I have included the black in the sentiment and in the background. I created the background by covering cardstock with Altenew's Dotted Washi Tape. This tape has the black dots on a white background. Not only does it bring in the modern element of black, but I think the dots look like snow and therefore it is perfect for a Holiday card.
I stamped and die cut all the foliage from the Holiday Bow set from Altenew using inks in Olive, Frayed Leaf, Evergreen, Lava Rock, Velvet and Fresh Lemon. The ornament was stamped and die cut from Altenew's Brilliant Baubles with Crimson, Velvet and Cotton Candy with gold embossing in the center. The sentiment was stamped onto white cardstock from the Brilliant Baubles stamp set and mounted onto Lawn Fawn's Chili paper.
I tucked the ends of the foliage and berries under the sentiment which I had popped up with a low foam tape. The ornament was glued partially onto the white cardstock and the parts off of the sentiment piece were supported with low foam tape. I made a bow from Lawn Fawn's Peppermint Twine and glued it to the top piece of the ornament which I had cut from gold glitter paper which I had in my craft stash.
The card is mounted on a top-fold base.
This is a card that was fun to make and arrange and just left me with a feeling of accomplishment because it came out better than I could have anticipated.
I really enjoyed making all of the cards in this class and I am enjoying circling back and making some more of these cards with a few different twists so that I can give them out for the holidays.
