Modern Holiday Card Making Day Four

I am enjoying the Altenew class "Modern Holiday Card Making" and I would be happy to have a new lesson every day, indefinitely. I don't think I can ever make enough Christmas cards and this class is very inspiring. So I am feeling inspired to try some new techniques.
I watercolored the poinsettia which I stamped onto on this card with Altenew's 36 pan set of colors. All of the stamps and dies are from Altenew. The paper is from Altenew as well, except for the white paper which is Neenah 110 pound cardstock.
The background was die cut from Altenew's Candy Cane Stripe Cover Die. The poinsettia was stamped with gold embossing powder from Altenew's "Poinsettia and Pine" stamp and die set onto watercolor paper.
I added one small yellow jewel in the center of the poinsettia. I thought that the mirror gold paper was enough bling and I didn't want to distract from how pretty this gold paper blends with everything by adding jewels or sequins (except for the small yellow one on the flower).
I have ordered the poinsettia stamp used by the instructor of the course, but it won't arrive until next week but I think this stamp set is really nice. I will make a similar card with the new stamp when it arrives next week.

  1. Fabulous card and great use of the cover plate. I love the effect of the black cover on a white base. Thanks for sharing in the forum and joining the class.
