Cindy Brown AECP: Progressive Card Making 2

This is my third class for level three of AECP. I am learning so much about art theory and card making from the Altenew online classes. This class which I just completed, "Progressive Card Making 2" did not disappoint me. I learned new techniques with color blending and new card folds. I chose to highlight here my final card for the class where I demonstrate my new skill of creating a W fold inside a card. Inside of card as pop-out Inside of card, flat I thought the W fold which then allowed me to isolate 4 different scenes was a perfect match for the Altenew stamp and die set "Celebrations" as I was able to take elements of a celebration and give each scene it's own platform to shine. I covered the outside of the card with the Altenew Dotted Wide washi tape and then glued a rectangle of a bright pinkish paper to frame the flowers and sentiment that I stamped from the set. I then used my Altenew alcohol artists markers to lightly color the flowers and I added...

Cindy JB - Modern Holiday Card Making Day Six

This is the final day of this course. I have really enjoyed the week and making these cards. I still have one more to make and I will be doing a redo on the watercolored poinsettia as my stamp arrived this morning from Altenew. I love how all the elements go together in this card. Everything used is from Altenew. The background is a Washi Tape that covers the entire card. I think it looks like snow so it is perfect for this season of cards. The bauble and the foliage all go together in a folksy, sophisticated way that I love for the Holidays. The script on the sentiment is perfect. I will be playing with these sets more after the inspiration I received from this course.

Cindy Brown AECP: Creative Coloring with Erum Advanced Techniques Online Class

I have just completed this online course presented by Altenew and I enjoyed it and learned so many new techniques that I was able to accomplish. This has increased my confidence about the things I can do in card making. I am presenting the day 6 (final) project as it was the most challenging and the most satisfactory in terms of persevering and creating something that I love and will feel happy giving to someone. This class was all about coloring techniques outside of the obvious ones of stamping with ink. The card I am presenting was colored with alcohol markers for the flowers and leaves, then for the background, it was painted, then ink blended with a stencil. The card is only one layer and another aspect of the class was to create dimension by using gray to create a shadow. This day 6 class was challenging because I am not strong in those techniques and therefore avoid them. So, whenever I really want to learn a new technique online, I use the same materials that ...
